3b. Underarm turn using the triple step
This move is the same as the previous one except for the feet which are taking 3 steps (weight changes) per 2 counts instead of 1 step per 2 counts. Advantages of using triple step basic over the single step basic are
- 1) the triple step allows for more traveling on the dance floor (more ground can be covered with 3 steps than with 1).
- 2) if the music is slow, replacing 1 step with 3 steps has a snappier look.
For teaching purposes, all of the music on the Dance Tutor site is on the slower side, so the triple step is easily doable in the video. If the music is fast, there may not be enough time to fit in 3 steps.
