8d. Embellishing the Boleo

When doing a boleo, the follower can kick her back leg up as she pivots in order to create a circle in the air. She kicks the leg straight up and not in a circular motion. The circle is created by the rotation of her hips.

When she kicks, her foot should maintain contact with the floor as long as possible. This will give the embellishment a sharp motion and help assure that the foot stays pointed when it is in the air. DO NOT do this embellishment on a social dance floor. Save it for the end of the night when there are few dancers on the floor and you know no one is behind you.
