Sweep to the Side on 5 6
Here the triple step is replaced with a sweeping step which starts on count 5 and ends on count 6. The sweep belongs to the family of triple step substitutions which do not require an added step (or "throw in" or syncopated step). In this level 1 lesson, only the kick-ball-change required an additional throw in step to get the lady back on the correct foot.
The gent lowers himself
and the lady's hand
for the lead though
either partner can do it
without the otherAgain, the lady is free to follow or do whatever she wishes so long as she steps forward with her right on count 1.
